If you’re looking to get away from the rat race and find nothing but trees, birds and fresh mountain streams, our piece of Tasmanian paradise is waiting.
Kymmik Cottage is luxury, cottage-style accommodation on a private acreage surrounded by Scott’s Rivulet, just outside the little historic forestry town of Geeveston in the Huon Valley. The Hartz Mountains, Hastings Caves, the Tahune Airwalk and Cockle Creek, Australia’s southernmost town, are an easy drive away, and Hobart is a picturesque 55 minutes north.
The cottage has two luxury queen bedrooms, a bathroom with floor heating, a traditional country kitchen with everything you’re likely to need, a cosy lounge with a wood fire, and a window seat overlooking the water where our platypus plays.
Out the windows you’ll see our miniature donkeys, Chester the miniature horse, Mo the miniature goat, the sheep, turkeys, geese, ducks, chickens and peacock, plus the local wildlife: wallabies, pademelons, native hens and plenty of birds. And our dogs, Sheeba and Harlow, give the warmest welcomes of all.
Hosts Kym and Kim give you the space and privacy you want but are at hand to help if needed, and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area.
